Good luck with your price changes and pricing policy. Makes lots of sense. I haven't bought much in the way of ebooks yet since I don't have an e-reader. I'm a fan of physical copies. But since I don't have room for all the books I want, even if I could afford to buy them all, e-books help on space. $2.99 sounds like a good price point to me. It's about what I could spend at Half Price Books for a paperback in good condition, something I'm willing to pay even for an unknown author, and as an e-book, it'll only take up digital space, which is very nice for books that I read less frequently but still want to own.Jaleh Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04942272578488986874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6889983057537109989.post-10606119342570942442012-03-22T23:49:00.871-04:002012-03-22T23:49:00.871-04:00What a wonderful cover. Absolutely gorgeous.

While I've downloaded my fair share of $.99 and $1.99 books, I've definitely purchased ones that are upwards of $5 (although those $5 books are usually 2nd and 3rd books in a series that I know I like, and where the 1st book was a little less expensive). I've heard that $2.99 is the "sweet spot" as far as pricing for novels is concerned (I think Roni Loren might have mentioned that in a past blog post? I can't remember off the top of my head), and as a reader, I find it to be a reasonable price.

Anyway, great work this round, Nadja!Lena Corazonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15795023109662156471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6889983057537109989.post-63556102709079836582012-03-22T10:28:46.060-04:002012-03-22T10:28:46.060-04:00I really like the $0.99 price for novellas, but I ...I really like the $0.99 price for novellas, but I think it's too low for a novel. That is, your books do not exist in a vacuum. Having a sale on one can boost the others, and so on. They don't all have to be the same price across the board (obviously).

Thus, I like to stay flexible in my pricing, though I simply need more books so I can play around. $2.99 seems a great starting point for novels (from new authors like us). Anything under $5 seems a good deal to me. I don't flinch at buying traditional books under $10 (though generally I'm not "taking chances" at that level. I snatch up .99 works all the time, but I always read the sample first, regardless of how much I pay. Here's what I'm planning to do. I'm going to keep my .99 back list like it is. I have two novellas that are 1.99 and plan to keep them at that price. Future novellas will be 1.99 and novels will be 2.99. I love selling at .99, but if I'm going to try to make a living at this, I can't continue to do that. As for prices, I don't equate price with quality, nor do I let reviews sway my purchases. For the buyer in me, 2.99-3.99 sounds more than reasonable; the description is what generally catches my eye more than anything. The only thing that makes me pause (when buying an e-book) is when I see one for like $15 bucks or something.
